I’m slowly catching up on my blog so some of these posts might be little bit out dated. This past fall, I attended the PhotoPlus Conference + Expo in New York. While I was out there, I had the opportunity to work for NameDrop, an online company that works with various celebrities to promote potential talents for big opportunities in their industry. They sponsored an event by a world renown recording producer David Foster called David Foster & Friends. If you are not familiar with him, you might be familiar with the artists that he developed and or worked with. Some of which include: Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Josh Groban, All 4 One, Chicago, Peter Cetera, Kenny G, Brian McKnight, Katherine McPhee, just to name a few. He has produced countless #1 hit songs that we all are very familiar with.
They held a concert that night at the Madison Square Garden with some of David’s talented friends performing various hit songs that David produced. That night I also got to meet Charice – the new upcoming 17 year old star from the Philippines named Charice. Big thanks goes out to Ted Foxman of NameDrop for this awesome opportunity. I love working at events and concerts like this because just like weddings, event goes on and you only have one chance to capture the moments. So shooting a concert like this helps me to learn things which I can translate to wedding photography. Along with that, I get to network and rub shoulders with other talented individuals who are passionate and great at what they do.

I got to listened to the Canadian Tenors for the first time. These guys were unreal.
Recent American Idol runner-up Michael John also performed that night singing one of my favorite song St. Elmo's Fire
I didn't catch her name - she was part of the trio that sang like sirens. I was totally mesmerized by their voice.
Peter Cetera, former lead singer of Chicago wooed the audience with some of classic hits
American Idol winner Ruben Studdard charmed the ladies with his smooth voice & teddy bear like smile and personality
They performed the song "The Prayer" very gracefully
This this little 16 year old Filipino girl name Charice, who was first discovered the Oprah’s show because of her unbelievable voice, came on and stole the show. If you have not heard her perform, you owe it to yourself to watch her YouTube Video:

I just cannot imagine how that amazing voice can come from such a little timid girl - unreal
Her innocent smile reminds us that she is a young girl living out her dreams
Then the rest of the gang came out and close the night with a grand finale
All in all, this was a great opportunity and again big thanks to Ted Foxman of NameDrop.com for providing this opportunity. I look forward to doing more things with them in the future.

I attended the original David Foster & Friends show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on May 23, 2008 and Charice was just a couple of weeks into the “BIG TIME” with David Foster and THAT was something to see—I have a photo of Charice and me after the 4 1/2 hour concert that I will treasure always!
