Every now and then, someone comes up with an idea that makes you go: “now, why didn’t I think of that?!” Well my friends and photography extraordinare(s) Steven & Jen Bebb from Vancouver, Canada came up with something that did just that. With the recent development of the HDSLR (Canon 5d Mark II), the convergence of video and still photography is something that is bound to take over this industry by storm in the near future. With this next big step, people are going to need to learn how to incorporate this new technology into your business.

The Bebbs came up with a product that shows exactly how to use the technology, to make the end product and how to price it accordingly. They are also coming up with a company that you can outsource this just like the way some of us are currently outsourcing some of our raw conversion workflow, provide an online hosting solution, education and support. What do I think about this? I think it’s gold!

The Bebbs are calling this Fusion have a DVD in production right now that is open for pre-sales today. In addition, they have built a complete solution for the integration of audio, stills and video into a cohesive package. The infrastructure is in place to provide editing services, for those that don’t want to take it on by themselves. The education component is ready to roll with monthly webisodes and ongoing, subscription based, support.

Rather than me rambling on about this, go visit this website fusionisnow.com to find out more. Check ou their video that explains this as well: fusionisnow.smugmug.com/

Here’s a photo I took of this couple at the ONE workshop couple months back:

I just realized it’s been a while since I made full post with some of my weddings. I assure you, there are plenty more coming that I need to post. I’ll start with this one for now. Mijin & I met over 11 years ago and have been friends since then. Had you told me that I was going to be her wedding photographer, I would’ve probably laughed at myself b/c wedding photography was not even in the radar of what I would be doing today. Fortunately I am bless to do what I do and I was able to shoot this wedding for her. I think of wedding photography as a gift of time and memory that I can give to people. I have to admit it was a bit distracting to shoot this wedding since many of my friends were at this wedding. I wanted to catch up and talk to everyone but I also knew I had a job to do – so I did my best to step back and document the day as it unfolded.

My good friend/sidekick Tomas Flint trekked down from Rochester, NY to assist me that weekend. I appreciate his creativity and artistic eye. You know how they say that couples tend to look alike after awhile? I think with photographers, our photos start to look alike after awhile. Him and I have very similar style of shooting now that I can’t even tell who shot what unless I look at the EXIF file. :)

Any ways, here are some photos from the special day. If you are viewing these photos from facebook gallery, I encourage you to see the better quality photos on my blog

Wow, it was an unforgettable weekend down here. I knew it was going to be good times down here wrapping up my 2008 wedding season shooting the wedding with Tomas Flint helping me out, but some surprises were in store. I ran into couple of my good friends Amer Delic and Uncle Ray. Met another cool photographer name Ariel through Uncle Ray. We all had a great time hanging out together.

The view from the couple’s suite was absolutely stunning. You can get an idea of what the Paradise Island looks like.

It was a small but a perfect one by the beach. You can experience the love that this couple felt for each other and their close friends and family members.

The flower girls were absolutely adorable!

Ceremony ended just before sunset so we were able to capture some cool shots using the sunlight

Private reception dinner was in an underground room next to a giant acquarium

How many couples can say that a giant manta ray swam by their cake?

I’ll post more wedding photos once I catch up with others. :-)

We also got to spend some time relaxing and doing the touristy things. Here’s Kelli, Tomas & I soaking up the sun shopping at the straw market. I was able to get some major bargains for all of us.

I played around with delayed shutter effects and took some fun landscape shots. Hope you guys enjoy them.

This is how they decorate Christmas down here. Just picture listening to your favorite Christmas music except it’s in reggae/caribbean rhythm.

That’s it for now. Tomorrow I go back to the cold weather in Chicago. As much as I dread it, Chicago is my home and I actually miss the cold weather. Look forward to going back and catching up on all my work! :)

As much as I love Chicago and snow during the holiday season, there’s something about waking up in the morning to warm and sunny weather. I’ll be here for next few days soaking in the sun, shooting a wedding and doing some excursions. I’m here with my good friend Tomas Flint and his lady Kelli. I’m looking forward to meeting my client today for lunch and we’ll see what happens after that. I hear that some of the pro tennis players are here playing in an exhibition match today so that might be fun to go check out. I love not having a real set schedule.

This is also my last wedding of the year. Looking back at this year, I’m so thankful for all the opportunities that my clients gave me to travel all over the states for entrusting me to capture their moments. There’s some cool opportunities already brewing for 2009 and can’t wait for what else is in store!

After coming back from an unforgettable wedding in Cabo two weekends ago, I had the privilege of photographing Terry & Rachel last weekend in my hometown Chicago. Mother nature graced us with somewhat of a warm weather for November and we had a great time with them. I think this was literally the highest wedding I’ve shot so far (66th floor in the sears tower building – The Metropolitan Club)

Thanks to Dustin Francis & David Lai for assisting me that day. It was a blast to work with these guys. I also got a chance to work with Roberto Monastero, one of my favorite DJ’s in Chicago. He did such a great job mixing, they extended the reception party for one additional hour so people can dance more!

The groom’s looking spiffy…

Rachel looked gorgeous! :)

Beautiful flowers designed by Scarlet Petal

So happy together!

Rachel with her beautiful twin sister Natalie…

Not a bad view from the top…

Ok we need to stop slacking off and get back to work. :)

This is just a preview of what’s to come as I am a bit behind in my editing. Oh the joy of being a wedding photographer. I am down to my last wedding in the Bahamas and will crack at all the weddings once I get back.

UPDATE:
I forgot to mention that you can find my business online in two places:

1. Grace Ormonde Wedding Style:

2. My Chicago Wedding:
