Today I just wanted to quickly talk about couple of things.

Once in awhile a product comes along that when you see it makes you go “wow.” Last year when I got my Garmin Nuvi 660, it was probably one of the best investment I made for my business. I take that gadget with me everywhere I go. I’ve never gotten lost since then.

Well I was introduced to another product recently that made me go “wow” again. This bag is awesome. I carry it with me to all my eSessions and when I travel. The Boda Dry bag can carry up to 4 lenses and has so many compartments to carry every accessory you can imagine! The strap is supersoft and distributes the weight nicely. I could describe it more but you have to try it out for yourself. Jim Garner stands by his product and will go out of his way to make sure that everyone is satisfied.

If you are interested, shoot me an email and I will send you a PromoCode to get additional 10% off this bag!

If you have or get one, take a photo of yourself and email it to me! :) Click on the image above to get more information.

Thanks Boda!!!

This is a MUST SEE seminar and these guys are on our highly recommended list of people to learn from! If you’ve signed up for the Chicago seminar… I’ll be seeing you there Monday, April 28th at the Chicago Hilton. Click HERE for more info!

As an incentive, if you come to the one in Chicago, we will be giving away a BODA Dry Jr. bag there! I’ll also give out some coupons to save 10% off on one if you don’t win it. Let me know if you are coming. I’d love to meet up with you guys. Bob & Dawn Davis will also make a guest appearance there!

Rather than creating a new blog, I thought I’d continue with this blog about this next wedding because it ties with what I was saying below about networking. I love the filipino folks! Two years ago I photographed Christine & John Catanus’ wedding. Since then, it seems like I’ve been their family wedding photographer. I’ve shot John’s brother Godfrey and Christine’s sister Kathie. I love their family and the community that surround them. I feel like I”m part of them now that every time I go to their wedding, it feels like a reunion. :) David Lai & Julia Liu came to assist me on that day. Big thanks go out to them!

Here are some photos from their special day. Congratulations Phil & Kathie. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Thankful
I had a blast shooting a wedding last night in Palo Alto, CA. We captured some great moments but one photo stuck out to me that I wanted to quickly blog about. I’m thankful for this business and the network of friends I have. This photo is of me with Joe & Jina, Janise & David, and John & Semi Lim. What do they have in common? I was privileged enough to photograph their weddings and from their wedding came other weddings which I will shoot in the future. I love that all my clients come from either word of mouth or at weddings I shoot. I never have to make any cold calls or even place any ads in a magazine. My clients are my walking advertisement. So quick thank you goes out to all my former and future couples!

Have a great week everyone! Next week I fly to the other coast and will capture Tim & Eunice’s wedding in NJ. Can’t wait to see more familiar faces out there!

END UPDATE

Hey guys – I just arrived today to San Francisco to shoot a wedding this saturday. Today I got to hang out with two of the finest photographers in San Francisco – Ann Hamilton & Gene Higa. They both have their own businesses but also work together often to shoot weddings at some most ridiculous places around the world. If you are from SF area, go check out their cute studio at: 2303 Greenwich Street San Francisco, CA. Any ways, I’ll have plenty to blog about this week. I just wanted to post this photo we took together today after our awesome dinner:

Gustavo & I were suppose to drop by the studio for a quick dinner but ended up spending over 7 hours together. I love it when we can connect with guys like this in the industry and get along right off the bat! Can you say, Good times?!’

Ok, I’ll blog more later on this week. I gotta hit the sack. The 2 hrs time difference is messin’ me up!

Hey folks. So far I’ve been out here spending few days before David & Janise wedding touring this area – and I must admit, SF is a great city. I got to do some really fun things. My friend/talented photographer Gustavo Fernandez has been a great host so far driving me around the various places in the city.

We had a blast hanging out with Gene Higa & Ann Hamilton the first night. They are great at what they do and better yet such fun folks to hang out with. I even got to play with Bogie – the famous pug. Such a gentle dog! He hung out for several hours and got to just talk and get to know each other.

Then the next day, we drove up to Sonoma/Napa area and ventured around the wine country. I’m not really a big fan of wine but being about to visit these gorgeous countryside villas made you want to try some. We had a sampler with cheese combo and it was delish! The scenery was breath-taking as each vineyard (so many of them) had their own unique look and feel to it. It made it seem like I was back in Italy driving through the Tuscany region. Out first stop was Domaine Carneros.

Then we drove over to Di Rosa Preserve Art & Nature where they had some fascinating american modern art. It was a hidden find in the midst of all the wine vineyards.

We ventured over to the main city center of Sonoma. We had a healthy lunch at a local deli/bakery and walked around the old San Francisco Solano Mission. Locals were super friendly and we chatted away. I fell in love with this town. Gustavo is shooting the Sonoma film festival here next week – I’m almost tempted to come back just to hang out here again.

As we were cruising through the countryside, we spotted Jacuzzi Family Vineyard known for their olive oil products. After sampling one, I had to walk away with a bottle of my own. Then we drove up the street to visit another beautiful vineyard called Viansa. Talk about a place to get married! We were in the wine cellar we saw some albums displayed there. It was no surprise to see it that they were done by talented Ms. Jules Bianchi herself. I can’t wait to shoot a wedding at a location like this in the future. :)

We capped the night by having a great dinner at Osha Thai with Terrell Lloyd. Terrell is one of those guys that exudes positive energy. You are happy just by being around this guy. He is the official photographer for San Fran 49′ers and fortunate enough to be called Canon’s “Explorer of Light.” We were having so much fun talking that I forgot to take a photo with him. I’m sure I’ll be seeing him again in the near future so it’s all good. The next day was our fun eSession shoot with David & Janise. You saw a few photos from yesterday. Incase you missed it, here they are:

After our fun session, Gustavo and I trekked over to the Legion of Honor museum to check out Annie Leibovitz’s exhibit. She is one of America’s most influential modern photographers. It was well worth the price of admission! As if the day couldn’t get better, I got to do one of my “To Do” things in life. I walked across the Golden Gate bridge. It was a thrill to walk with bright sun, strong wind and sea of cars rushing by you. The view was incredible and we got to chat with some fun folks along the way. Then Semi & John, my good friends, met up with us for some much needed dinner at Kitaro’s

Whew, the trip was very fulfilling so far but tomorrow I get to do what I came here for. Can’ wait to shoot David & Janise’s wedding. It should be exciting. Lot of familiar faces should be there tomorrow. Good times! :)
