One of my good buddy Joe Gevas was visiting this past weekend to preach at New Life Church. He stayed an extra day to spend some time with us. So yesterday, Pastor Yun and I decided to visit the Billy Graham Museum in Wheaton, IL. I’ve always wanted to visit this place but never had a chance to go until now. Let’s just say I came with no expectation and walked away with a sober reminder of what my life on earth is suppose to be! If you never had a chance to go and are from the midwest area, do yourself a favor and make this trip!

Here we are in front of the museum!

Yun signing up to get free stuff… :)

The hall of Martyrs…

As we walked through the gallery of past leaders that have come and gone before us, the Hebrews 12:1 came to min – since we are surrounded my cloud of witnesses…” Here’s a photo of DL Moody’s library…

Billy Graham is probably the most influential figure in Christianity during the 20th century…

Yun & Joe (and myself) were all in awe of Mr. Graham…

His preaching pulpit…

Some photos of him with other influential figures…

When a reporter asked who he (Billy) goes to seek when he needs Biblical counseling and advice, Billy replied: “My wife…” It is true that behind every great man, there’s a greater woman :)

As we were getting near the end, we are reminded of what we are here to do and where we are headed.

Here’s a path that represents the tunnel of what we will see when we leave earth to go to Heaven. During this time, I thought of two phrases. One my God “well done my good and faithful servant” and Pastor Min: “Let’s hurry up, finish the job, and go home…”

Then in the next room we are reminded of the Hebrews 12:1 verses again as we stand in very bright room with the clouds surrounding us… There were couple of other rooms which took our breath away but they kindly asked us not to photograph it. I think it’s best for you to see it yourself. It will be worth it!

Then we were greeting by the Chicago cold weather outside. You can tell Joe the Californian loves the cold weather. :)

We went back to Yun’s place. Caleb and Abigail got some nice presents from Uncle Joe.

Yun & Jean sporting my KK shirts!

Only thing Caleb got from me was a slice of humble pie. I demolished him in Wii tennis. He was actually good at this game so I had to bring my A game. I am actually off the ground as I hit a backhand winner. :)

I actually made my own meal today. I’ve been eating all these good food lately but I know they are all bad for you too. So I forced myself to make a caprese salad. I don’t remember what all the ingredients are, but it tastes pretty good. I think fresh Mozzarella cheese is good for you too (right?).

I got this email from a friend and wanted to share it with you. If you guys are like me (driving an SUV and on the road all the time, hopefully this will help save some $$ on purchasing gas). This is a condensed version of the email:

Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening….your gallon is not exactly a
gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

When you’re filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to the highest speed. You will see that most of the stations have the trigger that has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you’re getting less worth for your money.

One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.

Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up–most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

Here’s another helpful tip (not related to gas) that I learned being on the road:
Have you ever traveled and forgot to pack your cell phone charger or just misplaced it some where? No worries. Rather than going to a store, save yourself the $15-20 and just simply go up to the front desk of the hotel that you are staying at. Then ask them if they have any spare chargers laying around. Almost all the hotels have a box full of them that their previous customers either left or forgot that they are happy to get rid of. One of them is bound to fit yours.

Do you guys have any helpful tips to share? Have a great weekend! I’m off to Pastor Yun Choi’s church (www.wantnewlife.org) to hear my buddy Joe Gevas guest speak!
