February 27, 2008

Earlier this week I had chance to hang out in the city of Dallas during my tour with Bob & Mike. Tom & Tracy (see my wedding back in May of 2007) currently live there now so I got to spend some time with them. We visited the site where JFK was assassinated in 1964. All this time I thought Lee Harvey Oswald was the guy that was responsible for the assassination but new facts reveal that he had an accomplice that probably actually did the killing.

I so want to try one of these segways soon…

The X marks the spot. The green circle is where Lee Harvey was when he supposed shot the president…

But according to this man, the direction of the bullet came from the front, not the back… (I apologize if this is too graphic)

This orange section behind the fence on the other side is where the second gunman was located (who probably did the shooting)

He had a clear view of the president – see where the guy is standing – the X mark is right behind him..

I thought it was pretty interesting – supposedly there are more photos to prove this point but president LBJ has those locked away until 2039 when it can be reveal to the public.

Then we visited the Nasser Museum where our friend Annagae worked.

They had some really cool statues there… including this one. I first that this dude was a real person!

We’re trapped! The walls are collapsing!

We weren’t suppose to take any photos in the museum but I couldn’t resist when I saw this statue – Tom & Tracy gladly obliged :)

Hanging out at the museum shop

Yes they are my fans! :)

Annagae telling people this museum is not free!

Call me crazy but I spent $75 bucks on a pen in the museum shop. It was so cool I had to get it…

Can this couple be any more cooler?

Random folks at the local Good Record music store. This store had some really neat stuff!

In Texas, gun shooting is considered a leisure sport. I think Tom needs more practicing.

They had a baby lab named Bonesaw! So cute and energetic…

He did not want to sit still :)

Then we got together with some other friends for some good grub at Cuba Libre. It was good to see Karen & Matt again!

Tom & Tracy sporting my shirts! I love it. :D

Tom & Tracy even came out the second night after our tour ended and got to have dinner w/ Bob & Mike!

It was good to see you guys again! Can’t wait to go back to Dallas!

QUICK UPDATE:
My friend / talented photographer Shane Melenbacker just launched his new blog. It looks sweet. Go check it out. He also created this fun slideshow from his visit the Chicago during the Master Your Craft Tour.

END UPDATE

THANK YOU DALLAS!
I had a chance to visit Dallas the day before the event and got to hang out w/ some good friends and visit cool places before the seminar. I will make another post about that sometime soon. What a blast! Folks in Dallas sure didn’t disappoint us. Bob & Mike sure know how to mix work & fun together. They work so well together — I see more workshops with them in the near future. :) We were greeted by warm weather and friendly folks who were eager to learn from the best of the best. Here are some images that highlight yesterday’s event:

Unfortunately, my journey stops here. But the good thing is I start shooting weddings again (which is not a bad thing). Bob & Mike still have two more stops to make. Thank you everyone for follow us through the blog. Please pray for their safe travels! Next stop: LOS ANGELES, CA. Click here to register

GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES!
Not to bias but I think this seminar has been by far the best one yet. With sold out crowd (100+), some even camped out 6:30am in the morning to the best seat in the house. Cameras were clicking everywhere and people were laughing, learning, networking, and sharing! I really encourage everyone that attended the seminar to leave comments on mine, Mike or Bob’s blog to let not only them but everyone know how it was. We still have three cities left and we want everyone to get in on the action before it’s too late!

Big thanks goes out to Maureen, Lisa & Rachel from GraphiStudio, Martin from Apple, and the staff at Calumet for coming out to make this event a huge success! Next stop: DALLAS TX. Click here to register

Hey folks. This is Kenny updating for Mike & Bob again. We wrapped up the East Coast part of our tour with Hartford, CT. Folks there were great! We are having so much fun sharing and networking with everyone (as you can tell by my lack of speed on updating the blog).

We are entering our second half of this tour and can’t wait to meet more great photographers. Our next stop is Chicago – the biggest group so far. In the meantime, enjoy these images of the wonderful folks in CT:

Thank you everyone for coming out. We had such invaluable time connecting with everyone. Good times!

END UPDATE

Hello everyone. I’m currently on tour w/ Bob Davis & Mike Colón on their Master Your Craft Seminar. Rather than posting my images here, you can click on their names to visit their blogs to view the images from the event.

New York was such a blast! We met some wonderful people at the workshop. There’s such wide range of photographers – from veterans to rookies in the wedding industry. It’s great because everyone is here to learn and help one another.

After the workshop, a few of us got to go out to eat and also walk around Times Square. Thanks to Shannon & Stephanie for treating us to a wonderful dinner! They drove all the way from Ohio to attend this seminar. We also had folks from Italy and Toronto that came to attend Bob & Mike’s workshop!

KK-Maniacs are every where! Here’s Andres – we met at DJ’s workshop in January. It was great connecting with him again

Korina – I love her hair!

Michael & Rebecca from Buffalo NY!

Props to Bob for capturing me in action!

Becky & Michelle from GraphiStudio – they are such ham! They love to be photographed!

But then so do I!

We ran into bunch of asian folks in middle of Times Square filming something. So we walked over to find out who they were. Apparently they are called Wonder Girls from Korea. Some people there were shocked to find out that I had no idea who they were. I’ve never heard of them but apparently they are one of the more popular teen stars back in the motherland. So we hung out here for few minutes watching them recording their music video.

On a personal note, it has been such a privilege to spend time with Bob & Mike. I’ve been learning so much from them – not just about photography. They guys are not only great at what they do but they also honor the Lord and set examples for others to follow. Mike has such a giving heart. Bob is the wise jedi-master. Everytime I look at his work, I want to bow down like Wayne & Garth from Wayne’s World movie and chant: “I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy!” Yet his humility and teaching continues to amaze me.

Mike just released another 4 day intensive workshop in June (due to popular demand) today. It has already sold 5 seats and I guarantee that it will be sold out before this weekend. If you are serious about getting into wedding industry, this workshop is a must! Visit his site to read testimonies after testimonies of everyone who has been positively influenced by this workshop.

Bob is also having a workshop called Vegas Love Story out at Vegas during WPPI in March. If you’ve ever dreamed of shooting a destination/high-end gorgeous wedding, then you won’t want to miss this. This workshop is open only to 40 students and each attendees will be have an opportunity to shoot an actual wedding. Click on the link to find out more!
