2008 started off on a great note at Montrose, PA by spending some quality time together with peeps from all over the States with The Man upstairs. Then I journeyed my way down to one of the most historical city in America in Philadelphia. Thanks to my new friend Pastor Dan, we got to talk about some of our favorite things all the way in our 3 hour van ride (mostly food and movies). Although I had been to Philly before, I wanted to spend some more time getting lost in the city where many of the founding fathers spent their days constructing various writings that will define this nation as to what it is today.
To my surprise, I got a special treat by visiting a rare known medical museum called the Mutter Museum – where collection of rare human medical artifacts were preserved for public viewing. It was helpful and very educational to have my good friend Dr. James who explained the intricacies of the human body. It reminded me of how complex our human bodies are and that we indeed are wonderfully and carefully made by the hand of God. The tour of Mutter Museum continued over to the Pennsylvania hospital (the 1st hospital in America). There I got to sit at the original library where Ben Franklin spent his time and imagined what it would’ve been like to be next to him observing his studies. I also got to visit the very first medical autopsy room where many physicians in the past spent numerous hours analyzing the human body – paving the way for the medical technology today.
I got to discover another hole in the wall joint where they sell one of the best Philly Cheesesteak – John’s Roast Pork. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner and we conversed about his business for good 15-20 mins. I can’t wait to go visit him there again. Looking over my shoulder, I witness a man whose physique showed what will happen if I ate too many of these delicious sandwiches and learned that I probably shouldn’t visit here too often.
On my final day, I got to spend some quality time with Ms. Liberty Bell – one who defines this nation’s freedom. Although the signed said “Do Not Touch”, I translated that as “You Can Touch Carefully When No One is Looking.” (Just kidding. The photo just makes it look like I did but I have too much respect for our nation’s treasure to do that).
Then I trekked over to the Independence Hall – formerly known as the Pennsylvania State House. It was here that two of the most important document in America was created. I had the chills as I sat in that very room thinking that those founding fathers were all in this same room. I must admit it gave me the chills when I realized how much history was in that building.
The trip was capped off by meeting my future clients Devon & Daisy for dinner. It was good getting to know them over dinner talking about how they met, fell in love and just discovering who they are. My friend Tina also joined us that night. It was a fun night of good food and good friends.
I am finishing up this blog 30,000 feet up in the air. The plane is about to land soon to the familiar ground. If you didn’t read any of what I wrote above, then here’s a visual representation of what happened during my stay in Philly:

Next week I will be flying over to the other side of the country and spending time with various folks out there in the sunny state of California. I will keep you guys updated when I can. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed this entry.
P.S. I have decided to wait for my transition away from Xanga from now after talking to a good friend at the airport and some careful consideration. Thank you everyone for the feedback that you gave in the previous post. It really helped.
