Hey guys – I’m getting ready to board my plane in like 2 mins. Wanted to quickly update – I’ll be in Cali for 2 weeks. I’ll try to blog about my experience here as much as I can. I had a blast yesterday meeting up w/ Mark & Jinny. I love sitting down with my couple/clients and getting to know them. Their stories about how they met, who they are, etc. are so unique and interesting. And you can tell that they are so much in love. Here’s a quick shot of them:

Big props to Apple for coming out w/ the coolest, thinnest, lightest laptop! Check it out!

Ok, gotta go. They are leaving w/o me!

Jenny and I have been friends since college. She is so filled with life and energy one of her friend coined her with the nickname “Jenergy.” So I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding. Her and Louis were introduced to each other by their mutual friend Karen Lin (Sing). It was a rainy day but nothing stopped them from making this day an unforgettable one! The ceremony took place at the Harvest Community Church in Hoffman Estates. There must be some sort of “love vibe” going on in that church because I photographed handful of couples from there this year! So I would say if you want to find a spouse, visit this church! J/K!

One of my new assistants, David Lai tagged along with me on this one and helped captured some cool moments for the couple. Congratulations Louis & Jenny. Maybe God bless you guys as you start your journey down in St. Louis! Here are some photos from that day:

Chicago, IL –> Newport Beach, CA –> Long Beach, CA –> Santa Monica, CA –> Santa Barbara, CA –> Champaign, IL –> Charlotte, NC –> Baltimore, MD –> Gainsville, FL –> New York, NY –> Hartford, CT –> Las Vegas, NV –> San Fran, CA

A good friend of mine last night asked me to share some tips on networking. My answer to that is simple – learn to say “Hello, my name is…” Everything I learned about networking, I learned while being at CFC. I honestly feel like it’s just being at the right place at the right time and not fearing people. Other than that, all credit belongs to God who orchestrates everything. We are indeed in his sovereign plan! Proverbs 16:9 states: In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” I really believe this is true for all of us. God will open doors in areas which He wants you to go. But we have to prepare ourselves and take action.

Hey guys! I am about to make a drastic change in the way I blog and I need your input. Please take a moment to leave your comment. I am thinking about stop using xanga for all my photo blogs and move everything to a new blog with cooler features and layouts. My question is, if I leave xanga, will you guys still continue to check out my blog site? I’m thankful for xanga and for all the support and network I was able to establish over the past couple of years. But with the sudden growth in my business – I am looking to take this site to the next level.

I will offer RSS feature so that you guys can still subscribe to my blog. Please let me know what you think.

By the way, have you guys checked out my facebook group: Kenny Kim Photography? It was started last month and it has caused quite a stir in the facebook community. Be sure to join that group (open to public) as it has become a neat online place for all photographers and photo enthusiasts. I will be using that also to post my latest photos, announcements, schedule, & asnwering questions, etc.

2008 is looking to be a great year. It started out with an awesome retreat/conference at OIL and now I feel spiritually refreshed and energized to serve the Lord through my work. In the next couple of month, I will be traveling to various cities across the States to assist some of the top photographers in their workshop. I hope to network with other talented photographer out there. Thanks to Bob & Dawn Davis, Mike Col

2008 started off on a great note at Montrose, PA by spending some quality time together with peeps from all over the States with The Man upstairs. Then I journeyed my way down to one of the most historical city in America in Philadelphia. Thanks to my new friend Pastor Dan, we got to talk about some of our favorite things all the way in our 3 hour van ride (mostly food and movies). Although I had been to Philly before, I wanted to spend some more time getting lost in the city where many of the founding fathers spent their days constructing various writings that will define this nation as to what it is today.

To my surprise, I got a special treat by visiting a rare known medical museum called the Mutter Museum – where collection of rare human medical artifacts were preserved for public viewing. It was helpful and very educational to have my good friend Dr. James who explained the intricacies of the human body. It reminded me of how complex our human bodies are and that we indeed are wonderfully and carefully made by the hand of God. The tour of Mutter Museum continued over to the Pennsylvania hospital (the 1st hospital in America). There I got to sit at the original library where Ben Franklin spent his time and imagined what it would’ve been like to be next to him observing his studies. I also got to visit the very first medical autopsy room where many physicians in the past spent numerous hours analyzing the human body – paving the way for the medical technology today.

I got to discover another hole in the wall joint where they sell one of the best Philly Cheesesteak – John’s Roast Pork. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner and we conversed about his business for good 15-20 mins. I can’t wait to go visit him there again. Looking over my shoulder, I witness a man whose physique showed what will happen if I ate too many of these delicious sandwiches and learned that I probably shouldn’t visit here too often.

On my final day, I got to spend some quality time with Ms. Liberty Bell – one who defines this nation’s freedom. Although the signed said “Do Not Touch”, I translated that as “You Can Touch Carefully When No One is Looking.” (Just kidding. The photo just makes it look like I did but I have too much respect for our nation’s treasure to do that).

Then I trekked over to the Independence Hall – formerly known as the Pennsylvania State House. It was here that two of the most important document in America was created. I had the chills as I sat in that very room thinking that those founding fathers were all in this same room. I must admit it gave me the chills when I realized how much history was in that building.

The trip was capped off by meeting my future clients Devon & Daisy for dinner. It was good getting to know them over dinner talking about how they met, fell in love and just discovering who they are. My friend Tina also joined us that night. It was a fun night of good food and good friends.

I am finishing up this blog 30,000 feet up in the air. The plane is about to land soon to the familiar ground. If you didn’t read any of what I wrote above, then here’s a visual representation of what happened during my stay in Philly:

Next week I will be flying over to the other side of the country and spending time with various folks out there in the sunny state of California. I will keep you guys updated when I can. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed this entry.

P.S. I have decided to wait for my transition away from Xanga from now after talking to a good friend at the airport and some careful consideration. Thank you everyone for the feedback that you gave in the previous post. It really helped.
