It’s 4am ET and I know I should be sleeping but I wanted to post about this blog as soon as possible. I am still in Philly spending some quality time at my old college friend James Han’s place. I am slowly recovering from the craziness of OIL. It was such a blessing event. I think being away from my church this past semester (due to my hectic wedding schedule) made me miss the fellowship of community of believers. It was refreshing and energizing to spend few days in the woods of Montrose, PA. I had the privilege of serving in the OIL Media Group covering photos with other talented guys in Kenny Nakai, Duncan Leung, Dan Ko, HK Yoon & Chris Sotelo. Chris likes to call this group the insomniac crew – mainly because we don’t get to sleep much. But I can’t complain because the video guys never get to sleep. But it was so blessing to see others get blessed and to have the privilege to capture that made it worth while.
I’ve said it before but if you are in college/young adult, and haven’t experienced OIL, you definitely need to check it out. God’s presence is there in that crowded gymnasium packed with 900+ attendees all wanting to get closer to the Lord.
Please visit the OIL website to see all the photos from the event. Here are some that I took at the conference. Nakai & Duncan covered more angles and our team effort made this so much fun.

I got to test out my new 300mm F2.8L lens here. The clarity on this lens is disgusting.

The prayer time…
Some small group photos…

This image caused quite a stir among the audience!

Now unto some of my personal photos:
Dae Woung – arguably the best transparency man CFC has ever produced…
I got to meet some Kenny Kim Photography facebook group members at OIL. Here’s Ivy Chang from Georgia…
…and Jenn Kim from Penn State. I also met Celine from PSU but we didn’t get a chance to take a photo together…
Here’s Mike Lee with our traditional kissing photo at OIL. (We started this last year and ever year he comes, I’m giving him a big wet kiss on the cheek)
I was so glad to see Mia from Wisconsin. I’ve known her since High School and it is so encouraging to see her grow!
By the way, I apologize for my hedious puffy eyes. But this is the result of sleeping 2 hrs the night before. Here’s the photog staff from OIL Media Group. And there’s our fellow photog friend Wayne squeezing in.

My super cool admin assistant Christina! She helped out as OIL Thug/staff this year.
My NJ friend Song Eun – she made me pose like this.

Seong – I’ve known this kid since his freshmen year in college…good times bro.
Here’s Joe Tek sporting my shirt!
Esther Yoon – the most outgoing/friendly freshmen (? or are you a sophomore now?!)
Jacob & his friend (name?) mimicking my logo…
Melshindotcom – the female up & coming photographer from CFC!
And finally a big hat off to our OMG (Oil Media Group) – it was a pleasure/privilege serving with you guys. These last two photos sort of tells you how delirious we were at the end of the conference.
All in all, it was a great experience. What a great way to start off the year! Please visit OIL’s website for more information and more photos.
