August 10, 2007

Today Duncan & I had a blast shooting a Mexican wedding. Francisco & Elvia were such a fun couple to shoot. It was an all out Mexican wedding with Mariachis and everything. I think I will have them for my wedding.

This is how they roll:

Thank you Elvia & Francisco for letting me be part of your life today.

August has been a crazy month – actually this entire summer has been crazy: weddings, traveling, my dad’s passing, summer league, J-gen, California workshop, NYC, etc. I apologize in advance to all my couples – your photos are coming! They will be worth the wait!

Time to hit the road again. I will be in Newport Beach / LA area for next 10 days. Drop me a note if you guys wanna meet up!

August 8, 2007

I revised this post to combine the two posts and show the slides from all three days at this J-Gen Conference. God is working in every generation. I’m thankful that I got to experience this first hand. Thank you everyone that I got to serve with, old & new friends I got to met, and the time I had to repent & reflect.

Here are some photos from Day 2. The photos are slightly smaller than the previous post. We had to reduce them to fit the slideshow projector they have here. The atmosphere is pretty incredible. Not only is it blessing to see these youths going crazy for JC, it is just as blessing to see all these young adults coming together to put their time, effort and most importantly prayer in making this event possible. Without further due, here are some photos from day two (Slideshow will give you the overall day – pics below will give you a quick glimpse – 95 photos):

Maddie
I went to tonight’s rehearsal for the wedding I am shooting this weekend. I ran into my good friend Nancy Roh and I had no idea she got a puppy. Her name is Mattie. Such a cute dog! I had to go inside the church but I couldn’t help but to play with her for few minutes. Such a cute dog!

August 7th
I can’t wait. I think Apple is releasing something cool on this date. Rumors claim that new brush-steel thinner iMacs are coming out with newly designed flat keyboard along with iLife upgrades. It’s also rumored that new generation iPod are coming out. Suhweet!

Workshop
One of my friend/talented photographer Corey McNabb is becoming a rock star. If you are interested in going into wedding photography and live out in the east coast, you definitely have to check out his upcoming workshop! He’s fun, dynamic and entertaining! You will have a blast! Click here for details.

More Workshops
Speaking of workshops, I will be out in LA – Orange Country area later this month for Mike Colon’s workshop. This is the one that I was suppose to go back in June but due to family emergency, I couldn’t make it out. Mike is one of three world photographers considered “Legend behind the lens” by Nikon. (Why Nikon Mike?!) He gave me a sweet shout out on his blog before. Thanks Mike!

I think there are few photographers that can leave you mesmerized like Jesh De Rox can. His work goes beyond capturing images. When I first visited his site, I sat in front of my computer and stared at his images for hours. I have been using some of his techniques and I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface. But more than just learning his techniques, I am looking forward to discovering my own style that I can implement into my own work from his workshop in NYC. Here’s a sample photo by him:

Weekend Recap
This past weekend was crazy – to say the least. Our church had lock-in on Friday night. I wanted to say all-night but couldn’t because I had a wedding to shoot the next day. Saturday I shot the wedding for 10+ hours and then went straight to the CFC Summer League to play and officiate. I didn’t get home until 3am and let’s just say I don’t remember what happened next. I somehow woke up on my bed sprawled out like a man who fell from the top of a building not knowing what time it was. But all in all, it was a fun weekend.

Celebrity Sighting

Speaking of weddings – the wedding I shot this weekend, Maria Sharapova was one of the bridesmaids. See the photo below (right):

Okay, so she was not Maria but sure looked like her and almost had me fooled when I first saw her. But they were all siblings and super cool to photograph.

Shirts!
Kenny Kim dot com & CFC Summer League shirts available. To purchase, send me an email or leave me a comment/message with a way for me to contact you. My shirts are $13 and come in various sizes including women’s sizes. Summer League shirts are $6 and come in men’s S to XXXL. Very few S & M’s left.

Funny Pic
Congratulations to Pastor Min & Joe for winning the A league in the tournament. A well deserved win I would say. Here’s my favorite photo of him possibly of all time. I respect him alot but this pic of him cracks me up. I love how he’s so young at heart. I’m proud to call him my pastor.
