For now, I am pooped. G’day mate! END EDIT

See you guys tomorrow if you are going to this concert in Hoffman Estates, IL. I’ll be shooting there so come by and say hello. Let’s take a picture together too!

Currently working on:
1. Tom & Tracy’s wedding photos
2. Gary & Linda’s wedding photos
3. Dave & Emily’s wedding photos
4. Ryan & Christine’s wedding photos

Random thoughts:
- FAQ: “Kenny, who’s going to shoot your wedding?” My answer: ” I need to worry about who I am going to marry first.” (I get asked this question at least once a day)
- I need to lose about 15 pounds in next two weeks
- I’m sick of eating meat
- Mowing the lawn is fun (sort of)
- Timing is everything
- God is good & sovereign

EDIT: Whew, I’m finally done shooting myriad of weddings. I think past 2 weeks I shot 4 weddings in 3 different states. It ended today with an exciting wedding of Ryan & Christine Peacock. They got married at a beautiful location called Patrick Haley Mansion. I’m beat and don’t have any time to post too [...]

I love her curls!

END EDIT

Whew, what a long but fun day! Not only did I get to spend the whole day with Dave & Emily but I also got to meet lot of their incredible friends. The support and love that Dave and Emily had from them is such a blessing. I am so tired right now from having so much fun but just wanted to post a few images from the day:

So mother nature decided to be not nice and brought rain to Detroit. But that wasn’t going to stop us from doing a fun photoshoot session. Here I am decked out in my new high-tech rain/water proof vest.

Dave and Emily looked great!

Okay, I’m wiped out. Off to bed I got!

EDIT: I’m currently sorting through Tom & Tracy’s and Gary & Linda’s wedding inside Starbucks in Northville, MI. I love editing images here because it’s like getting free wedding advertising. People come up to me to ask questions and from there, who know? Maybe I will meet another client. Any ways, I found this cool picture my assistant Duncan took at Tom & Tracy’s wedding so I thought I’d post it up here.

Having an assistant makes everything go so much smoother! If you are insterested in interning/shooting w/ me at some of the weddings, send me your contact info and links to some of your samples. No phone calls please!

By the way, meet my new best friend:

This thing is amazing! Who needs an iPhone when this does pretty much everything iPhone does?

I’m here shooting David Kim and Emily Liu’s wedding this weekend. I decided to come out a day early to visit my cousin who lives in Ann Arbor – home of Michigan Wolverines. He took me around campus today to show me some points of interest. Afterwards we feasted on some good food. Here are the some photos to highlight the day:

The football stadium – we tried to take the photo of the field but the gates were locked.

Michigan’s Union was nice. The door you see back there is where JFK stood and gave his speech regarding Peace Corp.

Supposedly this is considered the “Sacred M”. You are not suppose to step on this since it’s sacred…

So I decided to step on it

We took a shortcut through Nickels Arcade toward a burger joint called Red Hawk. Great burgers!

Pictures of the law quad

Cool looking library

Random shot of arches. Does anyone know what type of arch this is?

The Wave field? near North Campus

I saw these signs everywhere. I thought Champaign was the only place that was always under construction. Apparently not.

Having dinner Mediterranean style…

My cousin David (aka Davis) and Pastor Andrew Jun

Their portions were huge – took a picture of it with a hand in it to show the scale of the plate

I couldn’t even come close to finishing it. I was stuff at this point.

Picture of the group that joined us for dinner – mostly David’s friends.

Met a really cool girl name Rose.

Meet my cuz David

By the way, this weekend cops are really coming down on drivers or passengers that do not wear seat belts. Please be careful. I found out the hard way. I got a ticket while sitting on the passenger side! Boo…

Here’s a random photo. Call me crazy but I think my brides deserves to be photographed with only the best – these lenses cost me an arm and a leg but they are all worth it when it comes to capturing the perfect moment!

Whew, I’m still recovering from all the fun I had this past weekend covering Tom & Tracy and Gary & Linda’s weddings. I will try to blog about them soon but please be patient. I have 2 more weddings coming up this weekend!

But for now, let me spend a moment and talk about another great couple. Truman & Anna are getting married next year and I have the privilege to capture their wedding. But they couldn’t wait to do their engagement session – so they came down to spend the afternoon at their Alma Mater. We had fun visiting various locations together and I think these images will show just that:

I love this photo. The image is slightly distorted as this is a reflection off a window nearby where they were standing. But I believe in the word of Joe Buissink: “There is no such thing as a perfect photo but only perfect moments.”

I’m here hanging out with Duncan at our hotel room getting ready to shoot Tom Chiang and Tracy Ng’s weddding tomorrow. The groomsmen took us paintballing so I’m covered in paint right now. But before I shower, I thought I’d blog really quickly. We attended the rehearsal in hopes to get to know the bridal party and some of the family members before the wedding. During the rehearsal, Duncan and I wanted to have some fun and decided to work on our ninja photography shooting skills. This idea was somewhat inspired by another fellow photographer that I know: Mike Colon.

As you can see from the photo above, we are not at the level that he is so we spent some time perfecting something more simple: the art of concealing and blending in to the background. What do you think?

There were no “Uncle Bob’s” at this wedding but we did find other ninja photographers:

Finally, we’re looking forward to shooting these guy’s wedding tomorrow. Congratulations!
