Okay, so for those that kept coming back to see what the “special” announcement was, here it is. First of all, thanks for your patience as I had to deal with several server-related issues.

Having said that, the reason why I consider this as a special announcement is because it’s been something I’ve been working on for the past couple of years. I believe that God has given me a gift and the passion to use this gift to positively impact the lives of other people. What I am about to show you represents a new change that is happening in my life as I go down this career path.

Initially I was nervous, doubtful, and even a little bit afraid thinking about this lonely journey. But as I gradually took steps to go in that direction in faith, I discovered that God was already ahead of me leading me all along. Looking back, I can see how God used all my friends, the incredible people that I’ve met and the events that occured to take me to where I am today. In all honesty, I still do not completely know where this career is going to take me in the future. However, I rest assured knowing that God is with me along the way.

So without further adieu, I would like to unveil my new www.kennykim.com website. This site will be dedicated for my wedding/special events photography. The news about me pursuing full-time photography professionally might be old to some of you, but I’m finding out more and more that many people were not aware of my career switch. Although I will be retaining some parts of my current web design business, most of my time will be devoted to professional photography.

Enjoy the photos and feel free to leave your comments here. Thanks everyone and see you guys at the next wedding! (Click here or on the image to visit the website)

Champaign Shootout Update

This thursday, on the quad, at about 230 to 430pm, the church photographers are going to come out for a fun afternoon of shooting. So bring your cameras if you want to join us. Or if you and your group of friends want to be photographed, come out and find us out on the quad and we’ll have a fun mini-photoshoot! This is a great way to add photos for your facebook profiles, photo gallery, etc. We’ll help you answer any photo questions too. Afterwards, if you are free, we’re going to grab a quick bite to eat and just talk about photos. I know, we’re photo geeks! — (by the way, leave a comment here and let us know if you will be stopping by so we know who/how many people to expect.)

Easter Pics
By the time I post this, I’m sure a ton of xanga users will flood the cyberspace with photos from CFC Easter Dinner. I think this was the first year I didn’t get to attend the morning and the baptism service because I had to go up to chicago this morning to do a photoshoot for Life Changers International Church. But after my gig was over, I sped down 57 to come back just in time to catch the tail end of our baptism service and attend our Easter dinner. In a way, I love being down here for our service even though it’s 3+ hours long. So I’ll post couple of shots I took today during the shoot here. I am trying out my new point and shoot camera so I’m going to batch them all here and post all the pics. If you want any of them, drop me a comment and I’ll try to email them your way.

Life Changing International Church is lead by Pastor Gregory Dickow. You probably recognize him from his own television and radio show in Chicagoland area. His church hosts many big Christian music venues. This cute little girl led the body worship time in front of all the other bigger children choir. It was way too cute!

Pastor Dickow giving his Easter message…

This was taken during our Good Friday Service…(the sanctuary was packed – so lot of us had to sit around the altar)

On to the Easter Dinner pics…

EDIT: I hope everyone is having a good Easter/Passion Weekend so far. After this weekend, come back and check out my blog on monday for a special announcement! END EDIT

During my trip out to L.A., I was able to meet with Juan and Jackie to do their engagement photoshoot. We met at the beautiful gardens of Huntington Library in Pasadena. During our meeting, I found out that Juan was a former college football player and actor. He’s starred in numerous movies and TV shows but I remembered him from this scene in 1996 hit The Rock (he’s choking Sean Connery (Mason) and Nicholas Cage (Goodspeed) shoots him to save Mason’s life):

Any ways, I was little nervous at first since I had never met the couple before and if you first look at Juan, he looks like someone that can do some damage to you if you ever messed with him. But as we spent more time together, I found out he was a great guy. It was so obvious to sense the love and happiness Juan and Jackie had towards each other.
