The Big 33??
It’s amazing how fast time flies. When I was in college I used to think semesters were whizzing by, but as you get older, you realize time gets even faster as you get older. I can’t believe it’s already been 14 years since I stepped my foot on this campus. The journey I’ve been through has been an unforgettable one, filled with many ups and downs, joys and regrets, happiness and disappointments. But all in all, it’s been a great ride thus far and I can’t wait to find out what 33 will bring.

Isn’t it amazing how I look exactly the same?

Thanks to everyone who took time to wish me a happy one via email, facebook, IM, phone and in person. I would like to unofficially extend my birthday for one more day – so keep them coming. And if I see you, let’s take a picture together (this is the one of few times of the year where I get to take pics w/ people. ).

“Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12

EDIT Here’s another old school photo for ol’ time sake. This is my freshmen year servant and co-servant. Yup, P. Joe was my first bible study leader. I think I was the first and probably the last freshmen in cfc to ever depants their leader in public. Let’s just say that I thought it was going to be funny when I yanked his shorts down in front of everyone but to my surprise, no one laughed…and I was never the same after that night. Enough said.

Coming soon: Photos from Catherine & Bernie’s wedding. Alpesh & Payal’s engagement, & several more wedding photos.

Dave Cho, Jinny Kim & The Koo Chung Band in Concert – Champaign, IL

This event was sponsored by TASC (Taiwanese American Student Club). Big props to Christina Chou for putting the event together.

I had only heard of Koo Chung before. But I found out David Cho is cousin with someone else that I know! Small world! Man, I wish I can sing and play the guitar like him.

But I think Jinny Kim stole the night with her amazing/unique voice. As soon as she belted out the first note, it caught me off guard. I stopped taking photos and looked around. Everyone had that similar surprise look on their faces. Wayne was obviously mesmerized by her voice. (See above) She captured the audience with her charm and warm personality.

During intermission, everyone rushed to sign up for TASC membership and to purchase David and Jinny’s music.

Koo’s band members (John, Robin & Jae) getting warmed up for the main presentation.

Christina getting everyone pepped up…

Without further due…here’s Koo Chung!

Kim and Jimmy happy with their purchase. (Why is Jimmy giving us the finger?)

Thanks again to all the TASC staff members for making this event possible.

Koo Chung and everyone else got to spend the night @ my place that night. One of the highlight from the night was when Koo picked up my guitar and started jamming away. I was in awe because I didn’t know my guitar could make sounds like that.

All in all, it was great getting to meet these guys and being introduced to their music. I was thankful that they were using their musical talents to serve the Lord.

The Xanga Team

I found out through xanga subscription that Xanga team was going to be here today at the Engineering Expo. So I snuck in there to meet and greet the staff guys that started all this crazy online trend. They were really great guys and I had fun chatting with them about various things. One of the staff guy actually recognized me by my xanga name. It was cool because all their xanga names were simple – i.e. dan, janet, monsur, chrischoi, etc. (since they probably got first dibs in choosing their screename).

Any ways, they were kind enough to snap a photo with me and emailed me a copy of it (see above). I also got a bunch of t-shirts from them so if you want to sport xanga (see photo), leave me a nice long comment and I’ll see what I can do for you (while supplies last and there’s only one size: L).

Andrew & Nickey’s Engagement Shoot – Lake Forest, IL
I didn’t know such thing as biting flies existed until this photoshoot. Aside from 100+ fly bites, we had a great time together. They were good sport about getting wet in the water. Congratulations guys!

FAR/PAR will always be my home. But this year, I am going to give ISR a try. After all, we’re all a family right? So without further due… hellooooo ISR 6.

Incase you missed this week, be sure to join us next week – otherwise C & K Co. will hunt you down!

—————————— END EDIT ——————————

Looonngg Weekend
I’m back after a long but fun weekend. Thanks to alflex for acting as my sidekick. He’s probably the worst assistant anyone can ask for but for driving and fun times, you can always count on him. I’ll tell you a funny story about the bouquet toss later. In 4 days, I was able to cover 3 weddings and 1 family photoshoot averaging about 1200 miles on the road and 3-4 hrs of sleep. I love my life. Here’s a quick recap:

The Lee Family – Winfield, IL

Lee & Kotim Ditiangkin – Lake Forest, IL

Bryan & Mary Hsueh – Spiringfield, IL

Gerald & Angie Huang – Downers Grove, IL

Congratulations to all the couples on their beautiful wedding. More of their photos will come later. I’m actually behind on editing my photos. Thanks to all my clients for being so patient!

After all the time I spent on the road this past few months, I’m thinking my SUV is not helping me out on saving $ for gas. I am highly considering getting this car. 60 city, 55 highway mpg hybrid. Not bad besides the way it looks. Any suggestions?
