Epiphanic Moment

Just wanted to update quickly before the long weekend ahead. It’s been a few weeks now since I settled in to my new place. But for a while it didn’t feel like I was living at my own place until last week when I had that epiphanic moment. Something about being able to enter your house using the garage door opener made me suddenly realize that I’m actually living in a homeowner. Up to that point, I still felt like I was living in someone else’s place. And yes, it was having my garage door installed this past week that made me realize this. It was just a click of a button that turned on something in my head. Weird huh? Any ways, come by and check it out sometime if you are in the area.

Now working at a Starbucks near you
Congratulations to Genuine on getting a job at Starbucks! Are there any other baristas out there visiting my xanga? Which store do u work @?

Labor Day weekend
I’ll be on the road to take 3 weddings + 1 family photo shoot this weekend. Looking forward to meeting all the newly weds and being able to photograph their special day. I’ll probably end up driving about 2000 miles this weekend. Should be interesting. With all the weddings I’ve gone to this year, I literally feel like this:

Have a good labor day weekend everyone!

Sunday Recap
Today (Sunday) we had a quick summer smgp reunion:

We also celebrated Grace’s bday. She’s 24. Wow. That’s old.

Then got together later that night with other peeps to celebrate more birthdays. At first we thought it was just Marah’s:

Also turned out to be Jerm Chen’s bday surprise:

As well as Grace’s bday…again. Talk about killing 3 birds with one stone!

Wonder what Marah’s wishing for? I think Byun, Dae and Kevin already know.

Then Jerm got really competitive and challenged all the ladies to arm wrestling:

He almost lost to Sunah:

But dominated Marah:

Walter and Lester are slightly amused by this male domination:

Then girls challenged the guys to something more fair. A game of CatchPhrase. Edsel said: Bring it on.

Never saw a group of people play this game so seriously. I think Lester put up his house as part of the bet – or something like that.

It was a close match..

Okay maybe it was not so close…

Everyone is getting heated now…

It actually was a blow out. Now Lester has no house thanks to his brother Edsel. (Looks like Marah got her birthday wish answered)

Can anyone guess what Lester is doing here?

All in all it was fun. Got to chill with some random people. Coming up next: Photos from J-Gen. More wedding photos. Have a good week everyone!

1. Koo Chung in Concert
If you are in Champaign area, you gotta check out this concert. For more information, please contact Christina Chou: cchou3@uiuc.edu

2. Photos from J-Gen 2006

Got to attend the Chicagoland Youth retreat earlier this month. It was exciting to see the kingdom of God at work in all age levels. Spending time with John Teter and his buddy Joe was a blast. But more than that, seeing the lives that this conference was going to impact made it more worth while to be there. Ironically many of the counselors that were there helping out were once that rebellious youth group kid that didn’t want to be at this event – and seeing them now working together to fight for the lives of these kids was very moving and encouraging. Thanks everyone for being there. Your work will not be in vain.

Here are some photos from the event. You can check out the rest of the ones I took while I was there by visiting this gallery
