My Favorite Photos from 2005
Man, looking back through all the photos from 2005 brought back flood of memories! It was a difficult process to sort through all the photos and deciding on which photos to use. The end result is probably not what I want in the end but for sake of time, this will do. By the way, I am going to have to make this “Favorite Photos” post into 2 part series: One entry will comprise of various photos taken through out the year. The seond one will focus on all my wedding photoshoots. There were just too many to combine them into one category.

Contest: Please take time to peruse through the photos and feel free to leave your comments. As an incentive, to the person that leaves the most interesting/funny comment on this post, I will select that person to give out a good prize. Thanks and I hope you enjoy them!

A random person just asked me if I took these photos or if I just compiled photos from somewhere. To clear things up, I took 99% of these photos. (The one with me, Dee, Luther, and Roger was taken by someone). Even the ones that I’m in, I used my tripod. Hope that clears up the confusion. :-D

2005 Freshmen Class BBQ at Jimbo’s place

Mike Park giving his farewell speech after spending 12 years on campus.

Pastor Milo and Peter’s Ordination Service

Thanks to my tripod, I was able to get in on some of these shots. The next series of photos are from my trip to Arizona with Rich, Matt Pyon and Jimbo.

Roger was the guest speaker for the 43rd annual Illinois Governor’s prayer breakfast. His jersey # was 43 also so that gave this event a special meaning. Some of the former guest speakers included: Billy Graham, Joseph Stowell, Jesse Jackson, etc.

Far/Par 10 Small Group visit to Washington DC for Mike Park’s wedding. Here we are walking through the Korean War Veteran Memorial.

Roger and I were hanging out one day and he randomly saw these group of kids playing park district baseball. So we pulled over and spent some time with them.

Melissa Kim and Arden Cho being goofy @ Starbucks.

The next series of photos are from the Cubs game vs the Marlins where Roger got to throw out the first pitch. It was my first experience at a MLB game. That day I got to see Mark Prior warm up (he was recovering from his injury). His warm up pitches were too fast for me to even bunt at. I can’t imagine how fast he throws during a live game.

During the commissioning service of Pastor Milo and Peter, all the pastors got around their family to pray for them. Deborah observing what’s going on looks over to her dad then puts her hand on him like the other pastors.

Got to hang out with Luther Head, Dee Brown and Roger at Roger’s crib last year.

It’s so hard to say good bye even when it’s temporary. Everyone showed up that day to send off Pastor Milo’s family. Here’s P. Milo and Ms. Kim as they hugged each other in tears.

CFC is growing! We now have a huge sunday school as well as youth group program. Here’s Gloria looking up a passage during Sunday School Bible study.

Got to hang out with the famous Mustard Seed group during their practice. Seeing them put so much prayer and effort was a blessing.

People have mistaken me for this good looking guy. Makes me mad everytime I think about how good he is at guitar. If I could play 10% of what he can, I would’ve pursued a career in rock n’ roll. :-)

Here’s Elmo carefully lighting the candles in preparing for Becky Kim’s surprise party.

Random shot of Lisa Kwak and Maria Lee @ the OG “study” lounge. How much studying do people really get there? Who knows.

This is Ruben Gonzales, a member of 2005-2006 Fighting Illini Tennis team that’s currently ranked #3 in the nation. He is the only asian (philippino) on the team. Way to represent the asian community!

Jane Myung grew up wanting to be a princess. On her 22rd birthday, she got her wish.

Sean and Sunny, members of Far/Par 15 posing together during the freshmen/transfer welcoming dinner.

FAR/PAR rushing to Huff Field during CFC’s annual Fall Mini-Olympics. Next series of photos are random shots from the event.

I got to dabble with family portraits this year.

Meet Caleb Choi. Probably the biggest Chicago/IL sports fan kid I know. Brian Randle knows him by his first name. And he’s also got charm that ladies will die for. Uh oh, better watch out!

I got to witness one of the worst beating in the history of football this year. Penn State came to our house and made us look like little children.

That’s not the final score. That’s just end of FIRST HALF!!! Dear Lord…

Sunny Park and Chris Sotelo emceeing Fall Praise Night. Here’s Sunny attempting to beatbox!(spelling?)

My roommate Chris is such a good looking guy. No I’m not gay. But anyone that can pose in a dumpy apartment like ours and still look good tells you something!

Thanks to Nick Price from my small group, I got to attend one of Muslim’s prayer service. This is the sunset prayer, one of five that they are required to do daily.

Freshmen class of 2006. Can’t wait to see how God is going to use them in the next 4 years.

Fighting Illini Tennis Team head coach Sujay Lama with his daughter Priya at the Midwest Blast, an event hosted by the tennis team.

Next series of photos are from the FAR/PAR Thanksgiving dinner.

Amer Delic, U of I Alumni participating in the Professional Tennis Challenger of Champaign. He recently lost in the 2nd round at the Australian Open. Look out for his website in 2006!

Our random roommate photoshoot. These guys love being in front of the camera so it was easy to shoot them.

Here’s another picture of Chris posing as a GQ model.

Roger is now currently playing for the Rockford Lightenings, a CBA team. He is putting up ridiculous numbers right now and could be called up to the big league any day. During his spare time, he also heads a ministry called RPJ Ministries – trying to help spread the name of Christ to the youths of America.

I had to put in the next 2 photos even though they were taken in 2006. This was our trip to NYC. During our photoshoot, Selah appointed herself to be my coffee holder. She gave me that look everytime I got done shooting to see if I wanted some coffee.

Here’s our group looking solemnly at what’s remaining of the World Trade Center at Ground Zero.

I love this photo of Jim Han studying. He’s currently working full-time as a programmer while trying to attain his Masters of Divinity at a local seminary. He also devotes his time to CFC as a small group leader and an officer. Where does he find time for dating?

When Arden Cho is not a student at U of I, she spends her time in modeling and acting. She has a korean movie out coming soon. She won the 2004 Miss Korea Chicago Pagent and is now currently a member of U of I cheerleading team. She can beat 90% of guys in bowling. :-( Here’s couple of shots from a photoshoot that I helped her out with. (By the way, she is my xanga arch nemesis. I get mad at her because she always gets so many more eProps! )

Dee, Deron, Warren, McBride, Roger and Luther goofing around playing “21″ before their practice. It was a neat experience to witnesses these guys at such close setting. People treat them as a celebrity on campus, but this picture reminds me that they are just boys having fun.

The next set of photos always remind me of how special and magical last season was. It was one that we’ll probably remember for a long time.

Another photo of the 2005 Freshmen class. Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys!

Area Friday Night Large Group. PPO closing us in prayer at the end.

One of many spontaneous after sunday service activity that we did with our small group last year. We visited the Humane Society and played with some of the puppies there. Josh Hahn had other things in mind…

Here’s Tim lost in worship at 2005 Revival meeting. I get so blessed and challenged by younger guys like him – seeing their purity of heart to want to worship God.

I also got to do a photoshoot for the U of I Women’s Tennis team. The picture below was used as their promotional poster schedule. Here’s Senior and captain Brianna Knue returning a slice backhand.

Freshmen Shivani Dave returning a forehand.

And of course, once again, who can look back at 2005 and not think about the Illini basketball team? I leave you now with one last look at the team that redefined history of basketball.

You’ve made it this far. Congratulations!

Weekend Recap 1: #4 Illinois vs #1 Virginia
Illinois hosted the #1 team in the nation in Viriginia this weekend @ Atkins Tennis Center. I’m proud to say that our boys knocked down the overrated team in the country and put them rightfully where they belong. End result? Illinois 5, Virginia 2. Here are some photos from the match (by the way, big props to geniebenie for showing up to this event and supporting the team):

It will take a while to download. please be patient. :-) (all photos by Kenny Kim photography)

Weekend Recap 2: U of I vs. Purdue Game
Got to sit courtside for this game so I brought my little 50mm camera and did some quick photoshoot. Without zoom, it was very limiting as far as what I can do… but nonetheless, here’s some photos from tonight’s game:

The Chief during the half-time ceremony

M.V.Dee

That flag weighs about 50lb

Randle throwing one down (look below for a funny story)

B. Randle’s sister Marissa cheering for her brother

Jamar-azing!

King James

This dunk is going on ESPN tonight!

Coach Zook begged me for a photo, so I gladly obliged :-D

Fun Story: Randle had 2 crazy dunks tonight. The first one, after he dunked, he came down and flexed his muscles in front of the crowd. I’m not sure if it was because we were sitting right next to his sister or the fact that I jumped nearly jumped out of my seat cheering for his dunk, he looked straight at me and we made eye contact. Apparently some people have told me that particular dunk made ESPN highlight and I got to be on TV for 0.5 secs. :-D Fun stuff. Now we’re tied for 1st place in Big Ten, thanks to Wisconsin that lost tonight to Michigan. Woo hoo! Go ILLINI!

Weekend Recap 3: Belated Birthday Celebration
Got together with Jim, Genuine & Melissa to celebrate their January birthday @ TGIFriday’s. Good food, good company, good times, etc.

Still working on my 2005 favorite photos. Thanks for your patience…

Freakin’ Fast…
So my computer arrived yesterday and let me tell ya, Intel chip 2.1 GHz is FAST…

So fast that I didn’t know what to do. I’m used to launching an application then getting up to go pee or reading a book while waiting for things to load up. I was chatting w/ my client last night and I was raving about how fast it was. His response was: “Oh great, that means you can get my work done much faster now!” Since I charge clients by the hour, does speed mean bad news for me? Uh oh… :-D

Anyways, who wants to go see Illinois Tennis (ranked #4 in the nation) take on Virginia (#1 in the nation) this Sunday 2th at noon? It should be an exciting match. The cost is free. Let me know if you want to go!

Happy Birthday Everyone!!!

** Okay so it’s late and I should end this post right now, I have to share this: It’s time for roommate plug-in. So I’m up pretty late doing work and updating this thing…my roommate Dae comes back home from work around 1am. He’s dead tired b/c he’s an accountant and he’s working around the clock during this tax season. First thing he does is sits next to me on the couch, makes some small talk, then proceeds to open his bible and begins reading. Few minutes later i look over and he’s passed out. After a long day of work, he chooses to read the word of God and the last thing on his mind will be the word. I bet he’s having kingdom dreams right now. By the way, his hair and his outfit looks good even while he’s sleeping. That, ladies, is your GQ. Need I say more? :-)
